The Big Announcement
Robotin has confirmed that the carpet cleaner will be priced at $1499 RRP. That puts it firmly in the premium end of the market, which is not surprising given the unique technology they are promising. The company has also said the Kickstarter campaign will go live before the end of September, readying it for the Black Friday and Christmas market. Global shipping is part of the plan which means buyers across regions will be able to get their hands on one without worrying about availability.

So what do you get for that kind of price tag? Robotin has kept the design compact at just 6.02 inches high, meaning it should slide under sofas and low furniture without issue. The base station has a generous sixty day bin capacity, which is in line with the best robot vacuums currently on the market. The R2's stand out feature though, is it's hot water cleaning. The machine is able to wash with water heated to 140°F or 60°C, a feature that promises a deeper clean for carpets. Buyers will also get a one year warranty as standard, providing some peace of mind as Robotin enters the home robotics market.
