Stair Climbing and Smarter Mopping: Dreame’s Big Reveal at IFA 2025

At this year’s IFA show in Berlin, Dreame came prepared with a line-up of ambitious new robot vacuums. The headline was the Dreame CyberX, a futuristic stair climbing robot designed to break one of the biggest barriers in home cleaning. Alongside it, Dreame also introduced upgrades to its mop technology with the Aqua Series and teased new innovations that make floor care even more automated.

Dreame CyberX: The First True Stair Climber

The CyberX is the star of Dreame’s announcements. Using what the company calls a Bionic QuadTrack system, the robot can climb stairs up to 25 centimetres high. This is made possible by four tracked treads that grip onto each step. A smart vision system scans the staircase ahead to confirm safety and ensure the robot only climbs when conditions are right. To protect against slips, Dreame has built in triple braking safety mechanisms. The result is a robot vacuum that can move between floors on its own rather than relying on you to carry it around.

Battery life also got attention, with the CyberX packing a 6400 milliamp hour battery. Dreame claims this is enough for multi floor cleaning across up to five levels. If it works as promised, the CyberX could eliminate one of the biggest inconveniences of robot ownership and finally make whole home automation a reality.

Aqua Series and New Mop Tech

While the CyberX grabbed the headlines, Dreame also showcased innovations for people more focused on mopping performance. The new Aqua Series includes hotter water mop cleaning, stronger downward mop pressure and redesigned mop pads for better coverage. Dreame also teased the Matrix10 Ultra, a model that can switch between different mop types, and a Multi Mop Switching Dock designed to automatically change pads during a clean. These updates show Dreame is just as interested in improving hygiene and stain removal as it is in pushing futuristic features.

Why Dreame’s Announcements Matter

Dreame has been known for packing advanced technology into sleek machines, and IFA 2025 reinforced that reputation. The CyberX is not just a concept, it is a working prototype that demonstrates how far robot vacuums have come since their early days of bump and clean. The Aqua Series proves Dreame still wants to lead in day to day cleaning improvements too. There are still questions around pricing, availability in the UK and Europe, and how reliable a stair climbing robot will be over months of daily use. But these announcements make it clear Dreame intends to stay at the forefront of innovation.

If you are shopping for a new robot vacuum, the CyberX may be worth waiting for. It tackles the exact issue that has made robots inconvenient for multi level homes. Meanwhile the Aqua Series improvements show that even if you do not need stair climbing, Dreame still has options that push performance forward. IFA 2025 proved that Dreame is serious about leading the next wave of robot vacuum technology.
